    For longtime local John Redding, head instructor of Kumon at the Village, a passion for learning is an understatement. With degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, and Civil Engineering, John has worked as an engineer, an actuary and has taught mathematics, physics, English and several other subjects at private schools.

    When he and his wife – an environmental scientist – were ready to start a family, John switched gears and stayed home with their two children, Ben and Ellie. As the kids grew, so did John’s desire to open a meaningful small business. He spent countless hours researching opportunities that connected with him, and Kumon kept coming up. “For this next life chapter, I wanted to be part of something bigger that would help make our community and the world a better place – and what better way to do that than to invest in the futures of our children,” says John. With a love for working with kids and a passion for math, Kumon seemed to fit the bill. Read more
