Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 (7:00 PM) Ancient Israel Join us for a discovery of one of the world’s oldest travel destinations. We’ll visit bustling Tel Aviv, the archeological ruins of Caesarea and the beautiful mountainous Golan region. We’ll also explore the stunning desert fortress of Masada, float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea, tour the ancient water tunnels under the City of David and spend a day in the Occupied Territories with a local family. Tonight, we’ll gain an understanding of the modern day conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians, while visiting some of the most holy places in Christianity and Islam. This will be an interesting and educational night!
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 (7:00 PM) Exotic Thailand From the bustling markets of Bangkok to the mountainous countryside of the north and picturesque beaches in the south, Thailand’s diverse landscape is full of adventurous wonders. Tonight, we’ll cruise along the mighty Mekong River, trek the hillsides of the Chiang Rai Province and peruse the ancient temples of Chiang Mai—the cultural capital of the north. Heading south, we’ll explore the jungle of Khao Sok National Park and witness the stunning mountains rising out of the sea in the Krabi Province. Finally, we’ll end our adventure by relaxing on the idyllic beaches of Phuket—Thailand’s most famous beach resort.
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 (7:00 PM) Beautiful Caribbean Islands White sandy beaches, warm sunshine, funky reggae music and delicious food—it’s hard to beat the Caribbean! Tonight, local photographer Wayne Lee will take us on a cruise through the magical islands of the Caribbean Sea beginning in the U.S. Virgin Island of St. John and ending in Barbados. Stops along the way include: St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Martin, St. Barth’s, Isle Des Sainte and St. Lucia. We’ll visit historical buildings and plantation homes, experience local festivals and witness magnificent sunsets over impossibly turquoise water. Lee’s photographs truly capture the unique beauty and fascinating cultures of a destination that is both easily accessible to the United States and the perfect getaway for adventure, exploration and relaxation.
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 (7:00 PM) Ararat, Turkey and Beyond Join us for an exciting exploration of eastern Anatolia’s exotic splendors! Beginning in Istanbul, we’ll wander through the world famous Aya Sofia before venturing to the colorful and bustling bazaars. In Dogubayazit, we’ll see the spectacular Ishak Pasha Palace. We’ll also enjoy the magnificent views from the legendary volcano, Mount Ararat, which is visible from four countries and explore Noah’s Ark National Park, where many believe the ark came to rest. Tonight, we will also enjoy the views from 10,006-ft nemrut Dagi and 13,315-ft Mount Suphan—Turkey’s third highest peak.
