The Village is well known for its bountiful and beautiful landscaping. For about the past 25 years, Jerry and Jan Capone of Scenic One have handled the Village’s landscaping.

flowers2016_02This is no easy feat as the Village has typically features more than 34 overflowing hanging baskets and 30 ceramic planters each summer, not to mention all the bright gardens and beds.

“On average, we plant 500 flats of plants and flowers each May,” noted Jan Capone. “Thankfully, we have a wonderful crew who take a lot of pride in creating an inviting and colorful environment for our friends at the Village.”

Scenic One is family-owned and employs about ten people. Most employees have worked for Scenic One at least ten years and have gotten to know Village merchants over the years. “We know the business owners and Village employees,” Jan said, “We care about them and feel like our business grows alongside theirs.”

Scenic One plants a variety of flowers and creates different color schemes each year. They are constantly rotating, cleaning beds, dead heading, dividing and adding perennials and evaluating color to ensure the Village flower beds always have a “pop of color” and are healthy and lush.
